A client's Inspiring Review
In October 2019, after my breast cancer diagnosis I got in touch with Sharon about a hair piece after she was recommended to me by my own hairdresser.
From the very beginning her kindness and understanding were a great comfort to me and my family during an extremely difficult and challenging time.
She was so accommodating and very particular, wanting my hair piece to be exactly what I wanted. Initially I tried on a variety of pieces and nothing was any trouble to Sharon and she even ordered a piece especially that we thought would suit.
When my own hair began to fall out a month later following my first chemotherapy treatment, Sharon offered to cut and shave my hair and made what could have been a very difficult and sad time much less so and something I can look back on as a positive experience.
She gave me so much confidence and my hair piece was perfect for me, so comfortable and easy to put on. It made me feel like a human-being not a cancer patient.
Sharon was so attentive and kept in constant contact with me, checking on how I was doing with my treatment and making sure I was happy with my hair piece and if it needed any adjustments.
Sharon is extremely dedicated and passionate about her work I could not recommend her highly enough.

Why do we lose our hair?
Hair Loss Solutions
When we think about hair loss in women and men, we immediately think chemotherapy. But there are many many reasons for hair loss.
Hair loss can be triggered by stress, chemical damage, thermal damage, post pregnancy, hormones, diet, medication and age.
Sometimes we can stem the tide with simple lifestyle changes.Â
But sometimes, a more permanent solution is required. Where hair loss is localised, a hair piece can be integrated with your own hair for a completely natural look.Â
THINGS YOU CAN DO
- Avoid pulling your hair really tight when doing an upstyle ponytail or plait.
- Always use a low heat when using styling tools. Remember to use protection spray. See the video here.
- Switch to professional homecare as a healthy scalp means healthy hair. We are always here to help, please ask us what's best for you.
- Take extra time washing your hair to massage your scalp and promote blood circulation.
Step by Step
From hair LOSS TO HAIR Loss SOLUTION

Care for your hair starts with care for your scalp
The Scalp Clinic
Chemotherapy and alopecia are the most common causes of hair loss/ hair thinning. But there are many other factors that cause us to shed our hair.
Products and chemicals that we put on our hair can damage the hair follicle and will cause new hair growth to be weaker and thinner.
Similarly, many products can create a barrier across the hair follicle preventing the hairs penetrating through the skin.
We always look at the scalp first. If we can make the scalp healthy, it will look after the hair.
But this isn’t always an option, and sometimes a more permanent solution is required, such as a hair piece or a wig.
THINGS YOU CAN DO
- Take extra time washing your hair to massage your scalp and promote blood circulation.
- Switch to gentle products that are kind to your scalp. Use professional homecare products as a healthy scalp means healthy hair. We are always here to help, please ask us what's best for you.
- Treat the underlying condition. Seek medical advice for eczema or psoriasis and other skin conditions that may be blocking hairs coming through the skin.
- Always use a low heat when using styling tools. Remember to use protection spray. See the video below.

CARING FOR YOUR WIG
Washing
- Always detangle your wig before washing
- Always wash your wig in luke warm water, never hot water
- Soak rather than rub
- Dry naturally. Only ever use a hair dryer on a human hair wig, and make sure it is on the lowest heat.
Styling
- Brush your wig away from the roots
- Use specialist wig products that moisturise and nourish your wig
Storage
- Always store your wig upright on a wig stand or mannequin to help the wig keep its shape and avod tangling. It also keeps the wig away from dust.
- Never wear your wig when it is wet
- Don't sleep or shower in your wig
- Never wear a synthetic wig near the oven - even the waft of hot air can synge the delicate fabrics.
HAIR
- Don't neglect your own hair - make sure you treat it with the same care and respect that you give your wig.
